Sporgy was founded in 2018 by a husband-and-wife team of professional chefs with one shared mission: to make mushrooms more attractive. What started as a culinary obsession has grown into a lifestyle brand rooted in wellness, sustainability, and daily ritual.
With backgrounds spanning fine dining, mass catering, and elite private chef work—including a Food Network appearance on Cutthroat Kitchen—our founders bring not only technical expertise but also a creative edge that transforms mushrooms into something extraordinary.

The Founders
Sporgy is led by Carlee and Adam Alexander, a husband-and-wife duo whose expertise bridges the worlds of cuisine, science, and wellness.
Carlee trained at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, refining her skills as a high-end chef on the East Coast before transitioning her focus to wellness-centered cuisine and nutrition. Adam developed his craft across the West Coast, mastering both fine dining and large-scale catering. Together, their combined backgrounds bring precision, creativity, and balance to every product they create.
Beyond the kitchen, both Carlee and Adam are food scientists at heart, herbalists, naturalists, and amateur mycologists who have spent over a decade self-studying the medicinal benefits of mushrooms. Their curiosity and dedication have grown into deep expertise—bridging traditional knowledge, clinical research, and culinary innovation.
